Is it happening again?

While the facts are not exactly the same, there enough similarities to warrant discussion.

On 29 September 2023, 87-year-old Manfred (Fred) Wolfel took his sailboat Passat, 25 feet long, with a blue haul and Ontario ID 50E99759, out from its slip at the Frenchman's Bay Yacht Club and sailed out onto Lake Ontario. It is the last time he was seen.

DRPS conducted a wellness check on Wolfel's home at 8PM 2 October which indicated that he was not home. He was declared a Missing Person and DRPS began a search on the lake. on 7 October, with no clues or sightings, DRPS called off the search activity.

Manfred Wolfel, who goes by Fred, is described as male, white, medium build, 5’10, with grey hair. He was last seen wearing an orange/red hat, blue shirt, and beige pants.
