Surface to bottom currents on Lake Ontario

A colleague sent me the Great Lakes Surface Currents Map published by Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL), a department of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration in the US. The GLERL monitors all the Great Lakes and stores crucial data on the health of the lakes. Unfortunately, the map of currents on Lake Ontario is for March 2013. There is no guarantee that this was the situation in 1995, but the current does not change too dramatically with time.

This map confirms some of the suspicions concerning the Red Gas Tank controversy.
